Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has shared insights on why his side thrashed Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final.
PSG thrashed Los Blancos 4–0 at the MetLife Stadium on Wednesday, July 9, courtesy of a brace from Fabián Ruiz and goals from Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos.
Speaking on the emphatic win, Enrique said his side played a great match and kept pushing despite the scorching heat.
“It is a very special moment for us—Parisians, the supporters, the entire club,” Enrique told PSG TV.
“I think we did a really good job and played a great match. We are happy, we are in the final, and it has been an incredible season. We want to win this [Club World Cup] final.
Everyone saw the stifling heat—it’s incredible to play in that. I think it affected both teams, but we kept playing and fighting.”
PSG will face Chelsea in the final at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 13.
