COP Ajao Adewale gives update on Sommie’s death investigation

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ajao Adewale, has disclosed that the command has deployed officers to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Arise TV anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu.

Speaking in an interview on Arise News on Wednesday, October 1, Adewale said the investigation is being spearheaded by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigations, who will work with all tactical units to track down those responsible.

“What are we doing at our end? We’ve set up a specific investigation team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigations. All the tactical components required to unravel the whole situation and track down the culprits responsible for this dastardly act have been handed to him.

“The leads we are getting, we are already working on them. No stone will be left unturned to ensure the perpetrators are tracked and brought to justice. The result of the investigation will be made known to Nigerians. That is the situation for now,” Adewale said.

Meanwhile, Vanguard reports that the Vigilante Security guards attached to the sprawling compound in Highbrow Katampe died from gunshot wounds by the robbers numbering 15.

Aside from the Vigilante guard that was killed, other Vigilantes, about 4 of them, were locked up and had their hands tied and it was learnt the one killed was because he proved stubborn and refused to surrender.
