Bad roads affecting daily activities in Osun State

The issue of roads in Osun has been a source of night mare to concerned residents.

These roads which are mostly in the Western Senatorial zone of the state has been a source of worry to the residents and those who do business and have to travel these roads on a daily basis.

The government neglect of roads in the state grew to the extent that the rit started to affect both the Eastern and Central senatorial zones of the state.
Most residents have called on government to come to their aid as their daily lives was being negatively affected.

Committees, traders, farmers have complained despite government assurances that something is being done.

The residents of the state yet, do not feel the impacts of these government interventions.

Recently, youths in Ede town came up with suggestions on how to micro manage some township roads which were newly rehabilitated by the state government.

It has come to the extent where residents have to take the initiative to manage these roads because one government does that for a community or town, it may take years before another intervention in such manner wild be benefitted by such a town or community again.

The reason for the action, the Federation of Ede Youth Development Association stated was so that the road would last long.

They warned that activities of welders association, tippers and quarry association, carpentry association and the illegal dumping of refuse on drainage along the roads cause these roads to wear and tear.

Also,the association noted that many residents have relocated form their areas of residents due to the bad roads.

Business have heard to relocate thereby making the cost of food items and basic necessities to sky rocket, Afolabi Waliu Abiola, National President, Ọlagunju Wasiu Abiọdun Honourable, National spokesperson said in a statement
