A Nigerian man, Philip Obin, the Technical Assistant to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on New Media has narrated how he and several members of his community were violently chased out by members of the neighbouring communities.

The cause for the dispute was over palm plantation.

Obin, explained via his Twitter handle that during the cause of the problem, every house in his community was completely destroyed and properties and farm lands worth billions was looted.

He also explained how the Nigerian Army finally came to the rescue of members of his community.

"My house in the village. Same building, same location. 2017 vs. 2023, but we thank God for life.

"After 4-5 years of being violently chased out by neighbouring communities, and refusing to allow them return, after every house in my community was completely destroyed, properties and farms worth billions looted, over a disputed palm plantation, the Nigerian Army finally came through for the affected communities.

"The 10 Communities in Erei North and South wards of Biase LGA in Cross River State and Ekoli Edda Community in Edda LGA of Ebonyi (a neighbouring community) were all affected.

"A military base has now been established in Erei, with soldiers already deployed to man and protect lives and properties in the general area and to ensure the displaced communities return peacefully to their ancestral lands without fear.

"The soldiers have already committed to collaborating and working with all affected communities, their leaders, and existing peace committees and groups to ensure ongoing peace efforts yield positive results so that the once peace Erei nation can enjoy enduring peace again."
