The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed the date and venue for the Super Eagles clash with South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will host Bafana Bafana in their third game of the qualifiers after failing to win any of their first two matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

South Africa are second on the table with three points after winning their first game in the qualifiers against Benin but losing to Group C leaders Rwanda.

NFF confirmed on their official website that the match is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 7.

According to a report by All Nigeria Soccer, the venue is also confirmed to be the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

The match will be a fierce encounter for both countries, especially for South Africa, who hope to avenge its defeat in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-time African champions shattered Bafana Bafana's dreams of playing in their first final since 1998 after relegating them to a third-place play-off with a dramatic win in a penalty shootout.

After the game against Bafana Bafana, the Super Eagles will travel to Benin to face the Squirrels.
