Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is a talented Nigerian actress, singer and philantropist born on February 7, 1978 in Lagos, Nigeria. Omotola Jalade attended Oxford Children School and Chrisland School Opebi for her elementary schooling. The actress had and completed her high school education at Command Secondary School in Kaduna from 1988 to 1993.

Omotola has starred in over 300 films since making her Nollywood film debut in 1995, with millions of copies sold. She is the second celebrity in Nigeria to get more than a million likes on her Facebook profile.

After a brief stay at Obafemi Awolowo University, she studied estate management from 1996 to 2004 at Yaba College of Technology. Her initial professional goal was to work in business management. However, in order to make ends meet as she awaited her university results, she started modelling.

Omotola was a model prior to seizing an unforeseen chance to audition for a part in a movie, she was a model. She played a young woman with sickle-cell anemia in the 1996 movie Mortal Inheritance, which served as her breakthrough performance. Her performance in Mortal Inheritance as Kemi won her numerous accolades. The well-known actress acted in many follow-up movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s, such as Blood Sister 2, Kosorogun 2, and Lost Kingdom 2.

She rose to prominence as one of Nigeria's leading actors by the middle of the 2000s, with other exceptional performers like Genevieve Nnaji and Stella Damasus.

Omotola married her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde in 1996. They couple have been blessed with four children whose names are Princess, Meraiah, Captain E, and Micheal.
