Olasunkanmi Wasiu Ishola popularly known as K1 De Ultimate or KWAM 1 is one of the most popular fuji musicians of all times. He was born on March 3, 1957 in Agarawu, Lagos, Nigeria, but he is a native of Ogun state. The name KWAM 1 is an abbreviation of his name King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal the First. The maestro discovered his interest in music at the age of 8. Even though his parents did not initially accept his choice of career, KWAM 1 continued to pursue his passion for music.

He won several local music competitions when he was fifteen years old. KWAM 1 joined Ayinde Barrister's band, the Supreme Fuji Commanders, in 1975 to bring to light his musical aspirations.

The musician has been honoured with numerous accolades, like the "Headies Hall Of Fame" award in 2013, Best Fuji Artiste at the Nigerian Music Awards, Best African Artiste at the WOMAD Festival in Reading, and FAME Musician of the Year. King Adeyinka Oyekan II of Lagos bestowed upon him the title "Olu Omo" (golden child) in 2001.

Aside from being the father of 38 children, KWAM 1 is known to be a self-confessed polygamist and has several wives who have bore him kids. He has legally married a few of these ladies thus far, including Yewande, who resides in Canada with her kids.
