Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, was born on July 2, 1991, in Port Harcourt. He is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for his fusion of Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall.

He rose to fame in 2012 when he released the lead single from his first studio album, L.I.F.E (2013), "Like to Party". For the release of his third studio album, Outside (2018), Burna Boy signed with Atlantic Records in the US and Warner Music Group worldwide in 2017.

August 2020 saw the release of Burna Boy's fifth studio album, Twice as Tall. It won the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards' Best World Music Album. At the 2021 BET Awards, Burna Boy was the winner of Best International Act once more.

Love Damini, Burna Boy's sixth studio album, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in 2022, making history for African albums. Additionally, it rose to the top of the charts in France, the Netherlands, and the UK for African albums.

Burna Boy has won several awards including the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album. He has also been involved in controversies such as social media feuds and legal issues.

The singer is managed by his mother Bose Ogulu, who worked as a translator for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce. She was also the CEO of a language and music school. According to Burna Boy, his mother is the only person he trusts as having his interests at heart.
