Artists including Ladipoe, BOJ, The Cavemen, Bez, Waje, Duncan Mighty, Flavour, and Phyno were featured on the album, which was released by the native Nigerian record company Freeme Music.

His album Horoscope was released in 2022, and it includes appearances by Johnny Drille, Simi, M.I. Abaga, Buju, Peruzzi, Oxlade, Reekado Banks, Flaz, Magnito, Illbliss, Dremo, and Flavour as guests. Basketmouth married his longtime partner Elsie in Lagos, Nigeria, in November 2010. Together, they are parents to three children. After twelve years of marriage, Basketmouth and his wife announced their divorce on the comedian's official Instagram account in December 2022 and this caused a stir on social media as many did not understand why they had to part ways after being married for a very long time.

Basketmouth has constantly been in the news over his feud with colleague AY Makun.

AY asserted that despite the fact that the concert's organizers had already paid Basketmouth N30,000 for the performance he performed at his show, the latter refused to reimburse him. In response to the accusation, Basketmouth stated he would like to remain silent. He also stated that he wished to never speak with AY again.
