Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, was reminisced when Nigeria U-17 squad secured their fourth World Cup youth championship trophy.

The G.D Chaves midfielder took to his Instagram feed to reminisce when Nigeria won the trophy in 2015, and revealing it was a good memory to always remember for him.

The tournament was packed with many events, with Nwakali captaining the team, and playing a significant role under the management of Emmanuel Amunike.

For his efforts, Nwakali secured the Golden Ball for notching three goals and three assists in the tournament.

Following this, he took to his social media to post a throwback picture of the event, revealing the good memories behind it.

“On this day 2015, we won the u17 in Chile for Nigeria good memories to always remember,” he wrote.

Aside Nwakali, Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, played a significant role for the Golden Eaglets scoring in every game of the tournament including a hat-trick against Australia.

In total, Osimhen notched 10 goals and provided two assists which earned him the Golden Boot as well as the Silver Boot.

Today, some of the 2015 U-17 set are still doing impressively well at their respective club with Osimhen scooping the 2022-23 Serie A top scorer award, and Samuel Chukwueze donning the colours of AC Milan.
