Reports indicate that Chelsea have submitted a formal offer for Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen after months of speculation.
Football transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio said the London club has presented an official bid to the player's agent Roberto Calenda, while they engage Napoli.
Napoli have pushed for his exit from Napoli, however, it remains unseen if the forward will reach an agreement with suitors before the August 31 transfer deadline.
Chelsea are desperate for a forward before the window closes and have already identified Brentford’s Ivan Toney as an alternative if they fail to land Osimhen.
Osimhen led Napoli to its first Scudetto in decades two seasons ago following his record move from Lille in 2020.
He netted 76 goals in 133 appearances over the past three seasons and was recently crowned African Footballer of the Year. He finished eighth in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli had also approached Osimhen with a lucrative offer, which was verified on social media by Calenda, who maintained his client has no plans to leave Europe at this stage of his career.
Meanwhile, Chelsea outcast Lukaku is on the cusp of completing his move to the former Serie A champions. The Belgian striker travelled to Naples for his medical on Wednesday before signing the contract papers.
