Players of the Democratic Republic of Congo took their creativity to another level after deciding to go the unorthodox way ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Central African nation have been camping in Abu Dhabi as they prepare for the continent's biggest football competition.

Ahead of their trip to Ivory Coast, the players chose to represent their clubs for the team's group photo.

In a video shared on social media, the players, who mostly ply their trades in Europe, were spotted wearing jerseys of different clubs including Olympique Marseille and RC Lens.

Some players wore jerseys of teams on the continent, with the easily spotted ones being that of Simba SC of Tanzania and Egypt's Pyramids FC.

DR Congo will wrap up their pre-AFCON camping with an international friendly against Burkina Faso on Wednesday before leaving for Cote D'Ivoire.

The two-time African champions will be based in San Pedro, where they will play Morocco, South Africa, and Namibia in Group F.

DR Congo will open their AFCON campaign with a game against World Cup semi-finalists, Morocco, on January 21, per Sky Sports.
