Head Coach of Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has disclosed that Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is fit to feature for Nigeria at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

There have been concerns about Iheanacho's fitness after he pronounced injured at Leicester City resulting in him missing the club's recent matches.

The former Manchester City striker couldn't join the Super Eagles week-long training camp in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Speaking in an interview with reporters, the former Sporting Lisbon manager Peseiro said that the Leicester City forward is now fully fit and ready to play Nigeria.

He added that the 27-year-old will join the team in Ivory Coast for the tournament.

“Kelechi will be with us in Cote d’Ivoire. He has finished his treatment at Leicester City,” he said.

The Super Eagles team is currently en route to Nigeria from Abu Dhabi before they will later depart for the tournament in Cote d'Ivoire.
