Transfer: Chelsea confirm deal for youngster

Chelsea officially announced on Wednesday that Josh-Kofi Acheampong, a promising talent from their academy, has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The Blues confirmed the news via the club's official website.

Having joined the West London club as an Under-8 player, Acheampong, who is set to celebrate his 17th birthday in May, has successfully navigated through the youth ranks at Cobham.

Throughout the current season, the versatile defender has consistently contributed to the success of the club's Under-18 team and has also made notable appearances for the Under-21s.

Expressing the club's excitement about this development, Jim Fraser, Chelsea's Head of Youth Development and Recruitment, stated, "We are thrilled that Josh has committed his future to the club. He has taken another step forward in his development this season."
