Super Eagles Squad: Boniface, Lookman, 6 others set to make AFCON debut, check out full list of debutants

Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro has named his final 25-man squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nations tournament next month.

The Portuguese gaffer released the squad list on Friday, December 29 with two weeks to kick off in Ivory Coast.

The likes of Victor Osimhen, Skipper Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong, and Wilfred Ndidi all made the cut.

According to the PUNCH, former Sporting Lisbon manager Jose Peseiro invited 8 players who will be featuring in their first Nations Cup tournament next in January and February.

They are goalkeepers Stanley Nwabili and Olorunleke Ojo and defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey and Raphael Onyedika.

Others also selected to play for Nigeria in their first AFCON are Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman and five-time Bundesliga Rookie of the Month winner Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen.
