English Premier League Aston Villa has an eye on Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho as they aim to bolster their chance of a top-four finish.

According to UK publication, Football League World, Villa will likely make a move for him in January.

The forward has just six months on his current contract and will be free to discuss terms with other clubs from January.

“Aston Villa are interested in signing Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho in the January transfer window,” the website wrote.

“The Midlands club are keen to provide some depth behind Ollie Watkins in the center-forward role, as they compete on multiple fronts in 2024.

“As things stand, Iheanacho’s contract with Leicester is due to expire at the end of this season.

“That of course, means that the January transfer window could be the Foxes’ last chance to receive a fee for the striker, amid that interest from Aston Villa.”

Following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League to the championship, a host of clubs like West Ham, Fulham, Brentford and Wolves all showed interest in the Nigerian but he remained at the King Power Stadium.

Since then, the striker has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season under new manager Enzo Maresca, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
