Former Nigeria player, Alloy Agu has advised the Super Eagles not to write off any team in the upcoming African Cup of Nations should they aspire to win the tournament.

Nigeria has been pitted alongside host, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea in Group A of the competition.

With the team set to kick off its campaign against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, 2024, Agu warned the Super Eagles to take every game like a cup final.

He made this known in a chat with Complete Sports.

“I have the two friendly games the teams played against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique and I am impressed with the hunger and determination from the players.

"With just a few months to the commencement of the competition, I feel very optimistic about the chances of the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

“The players must take every game like a cup final and play out their heart for Nigeria.”

The Nations Cup which features 24 teams and runs from January 13 until February 11, will see the winners and runners-up in each of the six groups, plus the best four third-placed teams, reach the knockout phase.
