Nigeria vs Saudi Arabia: Boniface, Osimhen lead Super Eagles attack

Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen will lead the lineup for the Super Eagles as the team faces Saudi Arabia in an international friendly.

This will be the first time both inform strikers will lead the attack for the Super Eagles.

Supporting the attack are Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman.

The game will be played at the Estadio Municipal De Portimao in Portugal on Friday, October 13.

The game is one of two friendlies that the team will play during this international window.

The game is inconsequential and could only affect the team's FIFA ranking. It is also a preparatory game for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January next year.

Coach Jose Peseiro invited a 25-man squad for the game, with only Hatayspor forward Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as the only new player, according to Soccernet.ng.

Given Peseiro’s history, Peseiro is expected to field a strong XI because the Africa Cup of Nations is just three months away, and he would be looking to build understanding in the team.

Still, he could add a few tweaks to get the best lineup for the AFCON.
