Transfer: Osimhen, Napoli close in on new contract; release clause set for €150m

Victor Osimhen is close to a new agreement with Napoli over a new contract.

Sky Sport Italia reports that both parties are working on the final details of the contract.

The new 2-year deal will see the Super Eagles forward stay in Italy till 2027.

A release clause close to around €150m will also be inserted in the new contract.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis reportedly wanted to insert €200m release clause in the contract but seems to have bowed to pressure from Osimhen’s camp to lower it.

The Nigeria international was a subject of interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich this summer.

The 24-year-old was the top scorer in Serie A last season with 26 goals from 32 games.
