Nigeria and Italy will look to secure a place in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup when both teams clash in Mendoza on Wednesday (today).

The Flying Eagles and Gil Azzurrini started their campaign on a winning note with victories against Dominican Republic and Brazil, respectively.

Another victory or draw in this encounter will be enough for either side to secure a place in the knockout round.

The Italians are overwhelming favourites going into this game following their impressive performance against five-time winners Brazil.

Gil Azzurrini have a number of quality stars in their team, including Chelsea teen star Cesare Casadei.

Casadei scored twice and provided one assist against the Brazilians.

The Flying Eagles will need to be at their best against the Europeans.

Ladan Bosso’s side started slowly against Dominican Republic but grew into the game.

The West Africans wasted a number of clear cut chances in the game and must avoid a repeat of that to come out victorious in this game.
