La Liga: Chukwueze nominated for POTM

Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze has been nominated for the La Liga player of the month of March award following his impressive performance for Quique Setien's side.

The Nigerian international provided three assists out of the total six goals scored by the Yellow Submarines in March, helping his team to two wins and a draw.

The other nominees for the award are Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas, Real Sociedad's David Silva, Athletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona's Raphinha, Borja Iglesias of Real Betis and Unal of Getafe.

Chukwueze, 23, has managed 4 goals and 5 assists in 25 La Liga appearances this season.

The Super Eagles winger has also managed 11 goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow Submarines this term.

Chukwueze is currently at the camp of the Super Eagles as Jose Peseiro's men prepare for their Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea-Bissau on Friday, March 24.
