Nigeria-eligible Arsenal loanee to French club Reims, Folarin Balogun, has hinted at a possible switch to Nigeria with his latest social media post following England's snub.

The high-flying striker was not named in the England squad announced by manager Gareth Southgate for their upcoming fixtures despite his impressive form in the French league this season.

The 21-year-old who is on a season-long loan to Reims has netted 16 Ligue 1 goals in 26 appearances, more than PSG's Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.

Balogun is only behind Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David who have both managed 19 goals in the French league this term.

The ex-Middlesbrough striker was born in New York City to Nigerian parents before his family moved to the UK when he was two years.

He has represented the United States at the U-18 level and England at the U-20 and U-21 levels.

Taking to his Instagram story shortly after the Three Lions squad was announced on Thursday, Balogun wrote, “In life, go where you’re appreciated. Be easy.”

Many believe his comment is not a coincidence and perhaps he may be pondering over a possible switch to the Super Eagles or the USMNT as he is eligible to represent all three countries on the international level.
