'I consider him the best attacker ever' – Osimhen names his football idol

Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen has named Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba as his football idol.

Osimhen, 24, has been in a rich vein of form this season for the Naples-based team, and his name has been on the lips of fans who have been astonished by his explosive form.

The Super Eagle has also drawn several interests from some elite clubs in European football who are racing for his signature.

Osimhen, who has been likened to Drogba by some fans and veteran Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has revealed his admiration for the Chelsea legend in a recent interview.

“I watched Drogba a lot, how he played. I consider him one of the best attackers ever,” Osimhen noted.

Drogba is arguably one of the best strikers the African continent has ever produced.

The 44-year-old scored 302 goals in 688 appearances across his tenure at clubs around Europe, as per Soccernetng.

He also managed 65 goals for the Elephants of La Cote d'Ivoire in 105 caps.

Osimhen on the other hand scored his 100th senior career goal in Napoli's 2-0 win away at Sassuolo in Serie A last Friday.
