Club Brugge show interest in Dessers

Club Brugge have shown interest in Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers, according to reports from Belgium.

The 28-year-old who began the season on a blistering note at former club KRC Genk has endured a tumultuous time at newly promoted Serie A side Cremonese.

Dessers netted 3 goals in 3 appearances for Genk earlier in the season on his return from his impressive loan spell at Feyenoord where he won the top scorer award in the inaugural Europa Conference League after guiding the Eredivisie side to the grand finale.

Sadly, however, the Super Eagles striker has failed to replicate last season's heroics for Cremonese who have failed to win a single game in the Serie A after the end of first round.

The Dutch-born Nigerian international has managed just 3 goals in 16 Serie A outings for the Grigiorossi who sit rock bottom in Serie A with 8 points after 19 games.

Cremonese are likely to drop to Serie B without Dessers considering the latest development from Belgium.

“According to information from the Nieuwsblad, the leaders of Club Brugge have contacted the resident of Serie A to find out if they are open to a possible departure of their 28-year-old centre forward,” the website wrote.

Dessers has contract with Cremonese till 2027 which may inform the Belgium champions to opt for a loan deal.
