Why I turned down Manchester United — Bright Osayi-Samuel

Bright Osayi-Samuel reveals he almost joined English giants Manchester United earlier in his career.

Osayi-Samuel revealed he was approached by Manchester United’s scout John McNab following his fine performance at age grade level.

However, he settled for Blackpool, and later signed a professional contract after holding talks with his parents.

“He (McNab) wanted to take me to United, but I also talked to a coach at Blackpool.

“I talked to my parents, and they said I have a much better chance of succeeding at Blackpool,” He recounts.

Osayi-Samuel later quit the club for QPR in 2017, where he became a regular for QPR.

He made 115 competitive appearances for the Championship outfit before joining Fenerbahce at the start of last year.

The 24-year-old full-back has become a sought-after prospect in Turkey following his exceptional performances for Fenerbahce.

English clubs like Southampton, Brentford and West Ham have reportedly shown interest in securing his services, but they are facing stiff competition from other English clubs.
