Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rubbished reports going around that Nigerian doctors worsened the shoulder injury he sustained while playing for the three-time African champions.

The Napoli striker got injured while playing for Super Eagles in their 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone which ended in a draw in Benin, Edo state.

Victor Osimhen was however not allowed to travel with the Super Eagles for the second leg encounter which was played in Freetown.

And since he suffered the injury in Benin, Victor Osimhen has not been able to play for Italian side Napoli in the Serie A.

However, there were reports that Super Eagles doctors did more damage to the 21-year-old's injury by trying to fix the dislocated shoulder immediately on the field.

The Nigeria striker spotted the news on social media and immediately dismissed it claiming that the Nigerian doctors did no harm to him.

So far this season in the Italian Serie A, Victor Osimhen has netted two goals in eight games for Napoli under Gattuso.

Osimhen broke into the Super Eagles team in 2017, and the Nigerian has played 10 games so far for the West African nation netting five goals.

Many have also compared his football with that of former Super Eagles striker Rashidi Yekini who scored 37 goals while playing for the Super Eagles.
