Wilfred Ndidi: Eagles star sidelined for 8 weeks; set to miss friendlies

Super Eagles and Leicester defender, Wilfred Ndidi will miss the scheduled friendlies against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia and the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone after coach Brendan Rodgers disclosed that he will be out for between two to three months due to injury.

Ndidi has featured as a centre back in Leicester City’s opening Premier League games against West Brom and Burnley.

However, he picked up a groin injury in the win over the Clarets, and that ruled him out of the Foxes Carabao Cup loss to Arsenal, Soccernet.ng reports.

While management of the national side thought he would only miss the friendlies, it appears Ndidi will also miss the doubleheader against Sierra Leone in November.

“We’re waiting to see if he needs an operation. If he does it’ll be close to 12 weeks out,” Rodgers told BBC Leicester Sport.

The Foxes next face Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
