Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost Ekong set for English Championship move

Super Eagles vice-captain, William Troost Ekong could be on his way out of Italian Serie A, Udinesse. According to reports, Ekong has become supplus to requirement and will be used as a bargain to land players from English Championship side, Watford FC.

Local newspaper, Messaggero Veneto, in Udine report the Nigerian alongside Francisco Sierralta could be sold to the Hornets with Roberto Pereyra and Ignacio Pussetto moving the other way.

Ekong has had an impressive season in Italy making 31 appearances in all competition for Le Zebrette.

The Nigerian international joined Udinese from Bursaspor in 2018 and has turned out to be one of the club’s most important players.

Should a deal be agreed between the two parties, Ekong would be making an England return having featured for Fulham and Tottenham youth sides previously.
