Former Manchester United player, Nani has revealed what happened between him and former manager Sir Alex Ferguson whom he use to drive home after games.

Nani stated that he was neighbours with Ferguson and had to take up the challenge of driving him home.

The Portuguese who joined United in 2007 stated this while recounting the impact Ferguson's managerial skills had on him.

“He’s a man who knows how to manage all characters, all different ages, different personalities. But at the beginning, I was very scared of him,” he said.

“He was my neighbour and when we used to go to London by train his wife or his family used to leave him in the train station so on the way back he has no driver to take him.

“He was looking for someone who lives close to him to give him a ride.

“I said, ‘OK boss, I’ll take you home!’ One day I took him home was after a game against Fulham away, and I was on the bench.”

“I was playing unbelievable with a lot of confidence. We won a penalty and it was Ryan Giggs who took the penalties.

"I felt confident. Giggs didn’t say anything so I took the penalty and missed!”

United ended the game in a draw after a goal from Brede Hangeland goal.

“He killed me in the dressing room. Then Ryan. When we got back home hours later (from London) I say, ‘Boss, I can take you home’.

“I drove him back home and he still didn't talk to me in the car!”.
