Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has asked Saudi-based Al-Hilal to pay an outrageous fee of €500m for talisman Victor Osimhen.
It has become increasingly obvious that De Laurentiis is unwilling to let go of his most-priced asset.
Napoli had earlier rejected a staggering fee of €200m for the Super Eagles star who finished last season as the best striker in Serie A.
Despite Al-Hilal's enticing €40m per year wages proposal, Osimhen insisted on staying at Naples.
French outlet, L'Equipe reports that De Laurentiis never considered accepting Al-Hilal's lucrative deal for the 24-year-old Nigerian international.
In a mocking response to Al-Hilal, the Italian requested a €500m for the Super Eagles striker, teasing that the initial €200 can only afford one (Osimhen's) foot.
“Your €200m offer can buy a single foot of Osimhen. For next year, I think you’ll be able to offer €500m and we’ll probably consider your offer, but I’ll repeat myself: maybe.”
