'You can't destroy my career' - Orban fires club, threatens to quit Gent over bench role

Gift Orban has threatened to quit the club KAA Gent should he not be given more playing time under the manager, Hein Vanhaezebrouck

The Nigerian striker has lost his place in the line-up after a barren spell in front of goal.

The youngster was on the scoresheet for his side after coming off the bench in his side's victory against Sporting Charleroi on Sunday night.

He has started six out of 13 league games for the Buffalos this season.

“I am not a player who gains confidence when he comes on,” Orban told Het Nieuwsblad.

“I am a player who starts and must be able to grow in a match. A club cannot destroy my career. I keep working. If it doesn’t work here, go somewhere else.”

The 21-year-old joined Gent from Norwegian second-division club, Staebek in January.
