World Cup qualifier: We are always happy to represent the country - Umar Sadiq says

Real Sociedad’s Umar Sadiq has refuted the popular notion that he is in competition with other strikers in the Super Eagles’ attacking lineup.

The lanky forward shed more light on the conversation generated by the pool of attacking talents vying for a spot in the team’s offensive department.

He made this known while speaking to NFF TV as he stressed that players prioritize the success of the team over individual game time.

“Whenever we come here, we are always motivated; we want to play for the country,” remarked Umar Sadiq.

“We are always happy to represent the country whether you start, had some minutes, or are on the bench; we are always ready to represent.”

Further underscoring the team’s commitment, the former Almeri forward called for the unwavering support of fans and national team enthusiasts as they journey towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.

“They should keep supporting us, and I hope in the two games, we will come out with good results,” he added.
