Senegal have taken an incredibly bold step in their bid to get Sadio Mane fit on time ahead of the FIFA World Cup which kicks off on November 20.

The 30-year-old forward sustained an injury in Bayern Munich's 6-1 drubbing of Werder Bremen on Tuesday, November 8 at the Allianz Arena and was withdrawn by German manager Julian Nagelsmann in the 20th minute.

Despite the fears and uncertainties surrounding the former Liverpool man's injury, Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse has named Mane as part of his 26-man squad for the global showpiece.

Reports emerging from Senegal indicate that the African Champions are willing to adopt unorthodox means by consulting witch doctors to cure their star man to ensure that he is fit and available for the games in Qatar.

This was disclosed by FIFA's Senegalese secretary general, Fatma Samoura.

“We are going to use witch doctors,” she said “I don’t know (if they’re effective) but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway. We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”

According to reports, Senegal's team doctor has travelled to Munich to assess the extent of Mane's injury.

Senegal will face host Qatar, Netherlands, and Ecuador in Group A.
