'Winning the league title with Slavia Prague will be a glorious' – Ekpai Ubong

Nigeria midfielder Ubong Ekpai says he’s excited to join Czech Champions Slavia Prague and already looking forward to the adventure.

Ekpai signed for Slavia Praha on Wednesday after the expiration of his contract with Viktoria Plzen.

Former Nigerian U23 out pen to paper for a 3-year contract with Slavia Prague and linked up with his former coach Jindřich Trpišovský.

”I’m Super excited for this new chapter, Slavia is the biggest side in Czech with great history, a very competitive side who aim to win titles every year and my ambitions align with theirs it’s true coach Jindřich Trpišovský played a key role in my choosing Slavia, i love him and he knows me in out, he gave me my debut in Czech fortuna liga, i can’t wait to get kicking for this great club”

The 25-year-old added that his aim is to help the team retain their league title and have a good outing playing in the UEFA Champions League.

”Winning the league title will be a glorious feeling and i will help the team with my qualities to achieve that, i can’t wait to feature again in the UCL, the memories and goosebumps of playing against Real Madrid and Roma is still fresh”

Ekpai will now join his compatriot Peter Olayinka at the club next season.
