Why Real Madrid's Federico Valverde could face 12 matches ban

Uruguayan international Federico Valverde risks facing a possible 12 matches ban after clashing with Villarreal's Alex Baena aftermath of Real Madrid's defeat to the Yellow Submarines in La Liga earlier this month.

Spanish publication, Marca reports Baene passed a comment concerning Valverde's then-unborn child during the two teams Copa del Rey meeting back in January.

The Uruguayan's wife had a stillbirth complication, but everything turned out to be okay.

As per reports, Baene told Valverde to cry because his unborn child is not going to be born after he fouled him during the Copa del Rey clash.

Fede, 24, decided to take matters into his own hands by punching the young Spaniard midfielder while he was getting on board the team bus after the game.

Spanish outlet Relevo reports that Valverde will face sanctions for his conduct, as he is likely to face between a 4 to 12 matches ban from La Liga disciplinary committee.
