Ivorian international Yan Diomande has disclosed why he joined Real Madrid amid interest from several other European clubs.
The 19-year-old joined Los Blancos from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to €140m (£121m), including add-ons, this summer, snubbing interest from the likes of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
Madrid are expected to pay an initial guaranteed fee of around €125m (£108m), with add-ons that could push the total package to €140m.
The young winger has become the most expensive African signing in history, surpassing the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Victor Osimhen.
Diomande also smashed the record as the most expensive signing in Real Madrid's history, beating the transfer records of the likes of Jude Bellingham, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking on his decision to join Jose Mourinho's side, the highly rated Ivorian youngster said: "Because it's the best club in the world.
"When Madrid calls you, you can't say no. It's that simple. I am proud and happy because this was my dream," he added.
