West Ham United have parted ways with men’s first-team head coach Nuno Espírito Santo with immediate effect, the club has confirmed.

The decision follows a review of the team’s start to the EFL Championship season. The club’s board believes a change is necessary to keep its objectives and expectations on track.

Assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also left the club. West Ham thanked all three for their hard work and commitment and wished them well for the future.

The search for a new head coach is underway. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will oversee squad preparations ahead of the team’s Championship fixture at Cardiff City tomorrow evening. The club said it would make no further comment until a new head coach is appointed.
