Werder Bremen keen on Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins

Nigerian defender, Jamilu Collins is reported to be on the radar of Bundesliga giant, Werder Bremen.

According to reports, the German club identified Collins as an ideal candidate as they seek to bring steel to their backline ahead of the upcoming season. The left-back is still under contract with relegated Paderborn.

Collins was impressive in the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, getting involved in 416 duels – the second highest in the league – notching one goal and two assists for Paderborn, Brila reports.

Schalke have also been credited with an interest in Collins but Werder Bremen are reported to be ahead in the race to land the Nigeria international.

Collins joined SC Paderborn as a free agent in September 2017 following his exit from the Croatian club HNK Rijeka.

He has one year more on his current deal with Paderborn and is valued at €2.4 million by transfer market experts.
