We have good players who can make Nigeria proud - Peseiro reacts to exit of Osimhen, Iheanacho from camp

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has said he has the right replacement for Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho as Nigeria prepares for Monday’s friendly against the Mambas of Mozambique.

Both men have been ruled out of today's friendly scheduled to be played at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira on Monday, October 16 (today).

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen who had to knock in the friendly draw against Saudi Arabia will be traveling back to Napoli on Monday for an MRI scan while Iheanacho left the camp for personal reasons.

The absence of the duo will give the opportunity to other players in the team.

“We will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud. I look at the bench and see players who can step up and take their chances,” he said, as quoted by theNFF.com.

Monday’s match in Portugal will be the fifth senior-level meeting between Nigeria and Mozambique, and the Super Eagles are determined to put on a strong performance and secure a positive result against the Mambas, even without Osimhen and Iheanacho.
