'We are ready' - Oshoala fired up for UWCL

Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala has sounded a word of caution to Barcelona Femeni opponents in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The Blaugranas have been pitted against Bayern Munich, Rosenburg, and Benfica in Group D.

Former champions, Barcelona lost last season's grand finale to Olympique Lyonnais by 3-1.

Oshoalo scored the consolation goal when Barcelona lost to the same opponent by 4-1 at the same stage in 2019.

Speaking ahead of this season's campaign, the five-time African Footballer of the Year expressed optimism ahead of their group stage encounters while naming some clubs she loves to come up against.

“It’s a competition for champions. We are ready for the Championship. I will love to meet them again,” the former Arsenal striker told CNN Sport.

“I love to play against PSG, Bayern, Benfica. We are ready.”

Barcelona will begin their campaign at home to Benfica on October 19.

The ex-Super Falcons captain won the Pichichi in the Spanish women's league last season with 19 goals despite missing a chunk of games due to injury.
