Newly promoted Premier League side Watford are on the verge of signing Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo, per a report from The Sun UK.

Watford already boast a sizeable Nigerian contingent that includes Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, international teammate Isaac Success, Nigerian youth international Tom-Dele Bashiru.

The Hornets recently completed the capture of exciting Nigerian winger Emmanuel Dennis from Belgian champions Club Brugge and are still convinced that more is needed to ensure their safety in the English top flight.

And they are ready to snap up Stoke City midfielder Etebo on loan, with an option to buy should the Hornets retain their Premier League status at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The former Warri Wolves ace only arrived in Europe in 2016 but has already acquired the reputation of a journeyman.

The 25-year-old has played in Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and England for Feirense, Las Palmas, Getafe, Galatasaray, and Stoke City since departing the Nigerian Professional Football League five years ago.
