Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu hit the mark for his new club Trabzonspor against Besiktas JK over the weekend.
Onuachu debut goal came in the 29th minute of the game following his season-long loan from Trabzonspor.
The former Genk forward moved to Turkey after experiencing limited playing time with Southampton.
Before scoring his debut goal, Onuachu sustained a knock from a rough tackle by Salih Ucan.
However, he managed to rise and connect with Enis Bardhi’s cross, providing the home team with the lead.
After the game, Onuachu expressed his joy at scoring his first goal for the Turkish side, stating, “I am proud to score a goal in my first match. Everyone fought hard.”
Addressing his early exit from the game, Onuachu clarified, “I think my injury is not very serious. I left the game to prevent it from getting worse.”
While there has been no official update on the severity of Onuachu’s injury, fans are hopeful that the tall striker will continue to build on his success in upcoming matches.
