Samuel Chukwueze is feeling the full force of life under new AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri, as the Nigerian winger was left physically drained after a grueling training session at Milanello.
Allegri, who returned to the Rossoneri this summer with a mandate to restore discipline and intensity, has introduced double training sessions most days, a regime already taking its toll on players.
In a video posted by teammate Rafael Leão, Chukwueze could be seen struggling to speak after training, simply muttering: “I can’t talk.”
The intense sessions come at a pivotal time for Chukwueze. The 26-year-old is desperate to kickstart his Milan career after a frustrating first two seasons in Italy, where he played a bit-part role behind Christian Pulisic.
Signed from Villarreal for €20 million plus bonuses in the summer of 2023, Chukwueze arrived with high expectations but has yet to find consistent form in Serie A.
Now, with Allegri demanding more from every player, Chukwueze sees an opportunity to prove his worth. But his future at San Siro remains uncertain.
Reports suggest Real Sociedad are closely monitoring the winger’s situation, eyeing a potential return to La Liga. The Basque side, keen to bolster their attacking options, are weighing up a permanent move for Chukwueze.
Real Betis are also reportedly interested in Chukwueze, with AC Milan reportedly open to letting him leave, though only for the right price.
Chukwueze spent six productive seasons at Villarreal, where he won the UEFA Europa League in 2021 and developed into one of the most exciting wingers in Spanish football.
A return to Spain could revive his career, especially with Real Sociedad offering him the chance to be a central figure in their attacking plans.
