Video: Mikel Obi showers Michael Essien in heartwarming moment during Chelsea legends game

John Mikel Obi and Michael Essien shared a heartwarming moment together after the duo were reunited for a Chelsea legends game against their Bayern Munich counterparts.

The former Nigeria and Ghana players were part of a successful Chelsea side that produced several laurels for the club, including the 2012 UEFA Champions League.

Essien and Mikel Obi starred as the Chelsea legends tore apart Bayern Munich in a charity game, with the Ghanaian scoring and providing an assist.

In a video shared on social media, Mikel Obi was spotted pouring water on his friend as Essien granted a half-time interview.

The former Black Stars midfielder opened the scoring for the Blues after heading home a Ramirez cross.

Ex-captain John Terry doubled the lead after connecting to a Florent Malouda pass before Gary Cahill extended the lead after the break.

Thiago completed the win after finishing off a cheeky assist from Essien.

The game was played in honour of the late Gianluca Vialli with proceeds from the match to be donated to the Royal Marsden Cancer Centre, as reported by chelseafc.com.
