Victor Osimhen: Why Chelsea could lose signing Napoli superstar this summer

Chelsea’s ambition to sign Victor Osimhen this summer is largely tied to the London club being able to offload most of its fringe players so as to raise capital for the deal.

The 25-year-old Napoli forward has been strongly linked with the Blues with owner Todd Boehly keen to bring the Super Eagles star to Stamford Bridge to boost their attack.

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea could be forced away from negotiations with Osimhen due to Financial Fair Play regulations unless they offload some players including Armando Broja.

The Nigerian attacker is valued at €130 million by Napoli and if the Blues can't raise money from player sales, they will be unable to meet FFP rules and regulations to afford the striker.

The sole goal for Chelsea is to raise money from the sale of Broja, but the Albanian forward’s current transfer price could still be a major obstacle for the deal to become reality.

How Broja can stop Osimhen deal

Meanwhile, Broja has only mustered 47 minutes of action for Fulham since joining the Cottages on loan from Chelsea in January, thereby plummeting his transfer value, Transfer Football reports.

The Albenian forward’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €18.3m - the lowest since April 2022 and the Blues want a fee of roughly €50 million to offload him this summer.

Chelsea’s move for Osimhen may not be possible unless Broja can find some form again at Fulham and increase his transfer value before the end of the season.
