Nigerians have hit the streets to protest against the treatment Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen got from his club, Napoli.

The former Lille striker was recently trolled by his Italian club side after missing a penalty that could have sealed all three points against Bologna.

The Nigerian striker later put out a statement on his official page on Instagram absolving the Partenopei, the club fans, and the people of Naples of blame over the video uploaded on TikTok.

Despite the Super Eagles striker's statement, some Nigerians still took to the streets to protest against the way he was being treated by the Italian club.

Osimhen was not the only one the protesters were fighting for, they are also fighting for other Nigerian athletes in Europe and beyond facing one issue or the other.

The 24-year-old has moved on from the issue and has settled back into Napoli's squad.

He scored in their back-to-back games in the Italian Serie A but opted out of being the number one penalty taker in the team.

The Nigerian international featured in Napoli's 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Tuesday, October 3.

Osimhen would hope to go back to winning ways with Rudi Garcia-led team in their next game in the league against Fiorentina, according to Soccerway.
