Vic-tor....O-sim-hen: Daniele Bellini, Napoli's stadium announcer who made Osimhen 'more popular' in Italy

If you are a football fan, you probably might have come across several videos on social media of Daniele “Decibel” Bellini, Napoli's stadium announcer screaming the names of some of the club's popular players.

The unique voice of Bellini has gained him a celebrity status.

A radio personality and a disk jockey, Bellini has gradually become a cult hero in Naples and the Diego Amando Maradona Stadium.

"I cannot explain how great the emotion is when I am doing this. It is not a job but a passion," Bellini said when asked about what drives him to do what he does.

Bellini has become the soundtrack at the home grounds as he continuously hypes and screams the names of the players for every goal.

He doesn't just announce his name once, but several times. Sometimes the Italian even announces it nine times over as the Napoli crowd rattle off the surname of whoever bags.

His signature style which hasn't been replicated in any of the biggest stadiums in the world became popular when the scream 'GONZALO' went viral in 2013.

After Higuain scored against Arsenal in the Champions League, the announcer bellowed at the top of his lungs in an incredible moment.

Thousands of fans screamed in unison "HIGUAIN' nine times over.

He has gone on to scream the names of other Napoli players, including Lorenzo Insigne, and Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

While his famous clip of Higuain, a man who was arguably one of the most prolific strikers in world football at the time, Nigeria's Victor Osimhen has enjoyed some fan love over the years, especially the superb season they had last year.

Viral videos have emerged on social media as Bellini is in usual fashion screaming the first name of the player, while the 60,000 fans in the stadium follow up with the last.

Not only has his works excited fans of Napoli and opposing fans, but highly rated midfielder, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia said in an exclusive interview with a Georgian journalist that Bellini was one of the reasons why he joined Napoli.
