VIDEO: When Eto’o called for Okocha to be substituted during testimonial match

Nigerian legend, Jay Jay Okocha, was spectacular during the star-studded Joseph Yobo Testimonial in 2016.

After his remarkable footballing career, Yobo - a former Everton defender - retired in style as some of the best players graced his testimonial game in Port Harcourt.

Among the players who shone at the exhibition was Okocha, the former Super Eagles star.

Given the moniker 'so good they named him twice' during his famous stint with Bolton Wanderers, Okocha also featured for other top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce.

He decided to quit professional football in 2008 after a one-year stint with Hull City, but eight years later, he strapped on his boots for Yobo's testimonial match.

Then 42 years old, Okocha joined other superstars including Yaya Toure, Samuel Eto’o, Kolo Toure, John Terry, Aaron Mokoena, Andre Ayew, and Nwankwo Kanu.

The master dribbler was magical in that game, showing off his incredible skills and electric energy on the ball.

Eto'o signalled for Okocha's substitution

As early as the 23rd minute, Eto’o beckoned on the opposition bench to hook Okocha off with the signal for a substitution. The pair then shared a laugh and after a while, the Cameroonian legend gave it up.

SPORTbible reports that Yobo was part of his World XI which faced a Super Eagles XI, with David Moyes taking charge of the former team, having managed the former centre-back at Everton.

The testimonial turned out to be more of an Okocha exhibition as he made fools out of the opposition and did a number of no-look passes to the delight of those watching on from the stands.
