VIDEO: Osimhen gets a standing ovation from Napoli fans as he returns to training

Weeks after spending his holidays in Lagos, Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has returned to Napoli and was treated like a king by the home fans on Tuesday evening, July 18.

The Nigerian star recorded his name in the history books in the Italian league last season, scoring 26 goals to claim the Serie A golden boot and helping the club to win the Scudetto after 33 years.

Osimhen's blistering performances last season both endeared him to the fans and made him a target of continued interest from clubs across Europe's top leagues.

The former Lille strongman is rumoured to be a transfer target for clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the report by Soccernet and a video circulating on Twitter, Osimhen was given a rapturous welcome back to Napoli by fans at the home ground.

Osimhen was clearly overjoyed at the reaction he received, amid continued speculation that he would be leaving the reigning Serie A champs this season.

Napoli set for preseason friendlies

Meanwhile, Napoli have lined up friendlies against SPAL, Frosinone Calcio, and Anaune Val di Non this summer, and Osimhen is expected to be a key feature.

The Italian club's new head coach, Rudi Garcia, has also made it clear that he wants the Nigerian striker to be part of his team for the coming season.
