Newly crowned Africa's Men Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen has extolled Emmanuel Amunike for mentoring him as a U-17 player and setting the tone for his career.

The 24-year-old expressed his gratitude to his former coach at the youth level for the pivotal role he played in shaping his career.

Speaking after receiving the coveted prize, the Super Eagles star said

He said, “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. First of all, I want to say thank you God for everything. Special thanks goes to Emmanuel Amunike. Without him, I don’t think I would be standing in front of you guys holding one of the most prestigious awards in world football. It’s a dream come true for me.”
